Traupman-Carr replaces Dr. Cynthia Kosso who will retire on June 30
Bethlehem, PA, January 17, 2022: Today, announced that Dr. Carol Traupman-Carr has been named Provost and Dean of Faculty, effective May 9, 2022 after the conclusion of a nationwide search. Traupman-Carr was named Vice Provost in 2018 and has been closely affiliated with since 1986, when she graduated summa laude. Traupman-Carr will replace Dr. Cynthia Kosso, who is retiring after serving as ’s Provost and Dean of Faculty since 2015. Kosso will assist with the transition and officially retire on June 30, 2022.

Dr. Traupman-Carr earned her Ph.D. in musicology from Cornell University, and returned to in 1993 as coordinator of the College Music Institute. Over the course of the following three decades, she has chaired the Music Department (2000-01), served as the dean of curriculum and academic programs (2011-15), interim director of International Studies (2015-16), associate provost (2015-18), vice provost (2018-21), and vice provost and vice president for accreditation and assessment for and Lancaster Theological Seminary. She has earned the Board Chair’s Award for Excellence and the James J. Heller Award for Distinguished Administrative Service. Traupman-Carr also created Alpha Alpha Alpha, the first national honor society for first-generation college students, with chapters on 125 campuses nationwide.
